Are you curious about the creative talents of young women in your community? The Making Space project has brought together a group of young women aged 14-18 to develop their artistic skills and showcase their work in a unique exhibition.
The exhibition, which runs until Monday, 2 November 2026, features a collection of artwork inspired by the participants' own interests, experiences, and imagination. With the guidance of professional artists, including Liz Atkin and Debra Ivens, the young women have explored new techniques and built confidence in their abilities.
Liz Atkin, the project leader, is an artist and educator whose work transforms her lived experience of anxiety and compulsive skin picking into powerful drawings, photography, and performance. Debra Ivens, an artist and qualified teacher, has supported the sessions and curated the exhibition.
The exhibition is free to visit and takes place at The Horsebridge Arts Centre in Whitstable. On Monday, 2 November 2026, you can visit the centre, located at 11 Horsebridge Road, Whitstable, Kent, CT5 1AF. Tickets are with the button beside the article.
