South East Dance at The Dance Space (Brighton)

What does it mean to have a space to call your own, where you can let your ideas flourish without the burden of cost or commitment? For local creatives in Brighton, this question is about to become a little easier to answer, thanks to the launch of a community co-working space at The Dance Space.

The Village Green space, located on the second floor of this sleek and modern facility, is being made available to artists and makers on a first come, first served basis, with eight desks up for grabs each weekday between 10am and 5pm. There's no need to book in advance - simply turn up and get to work. And the best part? It's free to use, although donations are welcome to support the charitable work of South East Dance, the organisation behind the initiative.

South East Dance is a registered charity with a mission to change lives through dance, and its work encompasses a range of activities, from artist development to community outreach. The Dance Space, its home in central Brighton, is a stunning example of modern architecture, designed by the award-winning firm shedkm. With its three state-of-the-art studios, including a double-height performance space, it's the perfect hub for creative activity. And now, with the addition of the community co-working space, it's set to become an even more vital part of the city's artistic ecosystem.

The community co-working space will be available from Sunday, 1 November 2026, until Wednesday, 16 December 2026, at The Dance Space in Brighton. Tickets are with the button beside the article. Whether you're a writer, artist, or maker, this new space could be just the thing to help you take your work to the next level. With its flexible, drop-in approach and welcoming atmosphere, it's the perfect spot to meet fellow creatives, share ideas, and get inspired.

As a charity, South East Dance relies on donations to continue its work, so any contribution you can make will be gratefully received. And with its accessible location and virtual tour available online, there's no excuse not to give it a try. So why not take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to find your own space to create, and see where it takes you? The community co-working space is waiting for you - come and make it your own.
