Butch Kassidy's debut album ANNA is a 66-minute wall of sound that is designed to be listened to in its entirety, with no shuffle, no skipping, and no respite. The album was forged through intense, hours-long jam sessions in a shed painted bright green, where the band would lock themselves away for hours and just jam until they liked something. This obsessive repetitiveness really shaped the music that they wrote from then onwards. The result is a record that draws on post-rock, noise rock, and metal, with loud-quiet-loud dynamics that are both immersive and explosive.

The band's music is characterized by its intense and explosive sound, which has been compared to Slint's Spiderland by Far Out Magazine. Their debut single 'Heath' was released in 2021 as part of a Slow Dance Recordings compilation, and a re-recorded version, 'Heath 26', later appeared on their debut album. The single 'Killakee' blends the influence of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and SWANS with the band's love of metal, and it carries death-metal shading. The album's standout track 'Sonsuza' features a choir singing in Turkish, and bassist Lev Ceylan describes its lyrics as tied to a looping structure and clock-like toms.

Butch Kassidy are a five-piece band from West London, who emerged in early 2020. The band members include drummer Aron Murphy, bassist Lev Ceylan, Fionn, Levent, and Tom. They have headlined several one-day festivals in East London and shared bills with bdrmm, Fat Dog, and Mary in the Junkyard. Their live shows are known for being intense and explosive, and they have built a huge cult following off the back of these performances.
