Enjoy Brass and Wind Music in Sandwich

The sound of brass and wind instruments is unmistakable, and when performed by a talented community band, it's a truly uplifting experience. The Sandwich Concert Band, formed in 2011, is a prime example of this, with their Concert Band and Training Band offering a unique blend of music that caters to different skill levels and tastes.

With origins dating back over 20 years to the Pfizer Wind Orchestra, the band has evolved into a thriving community organisation that welcomes players without audition. Led by musical director Jake Convery and conductor Kate Robinson, the band's repertoire includes marches, classical transcriptions, music from films and shows, and symphonic band pieces, often featuring solo spots from within the group.

On Saturday, 21 November 2026, the Sandwich Concert Band will perform at St Mary's Arts Centre in Sandwich, with their concert titled Mystery & Magic. The provisional programme includes a range of exciting pieces, such as Aladdin and The Phantom of the Opera. Tickets are on sale with the button beside the article.
