Royal Tunbridge Wells Backstage Youth Workshops

At the Backstage Youth Theatre workshops, participants will try their hand at a range of activities, including costume and props making, set design, lighting operation, fitting microphones, and stage managing. The 5 November session, which runs from 4.30pm to 6pm, will focus on the set, props, and costume for the theatre's production of Elf the Musical. This is a unique opportunity for young people to learn about the work that goes on behind the scenes of a theatre show and gain valuable skills and experience.

The workshops are led by experienced, DBS-checked professional youth theatre leaders, who will guide participants through the various activities and provide expert tuition and support. The sessions are designed to be fun and engaging, while also providing a valuable learning experience. With bursaries available through The Elliott Fund for those who need financial support, the workshops are accessible to all, regardless of background or financial situation.

Trinity Youth Theatre, which serves young people aged 5 to 21, offers a range of weekly workshops and one-off masterclasses, as well as the Backstage Youth Theatre workshops. The programme is designed to provide young people with a comprehensive introduction to the world of theatre, from performance to production. The theatre itself is a registered charity, with a strong commitment to providing high-quality arts education and activities for young people.
