Family Film and Workshop Fun

At Fabrica in Brighton on Sunday, 13 December 2026, families will have the chance to create their own watercolour artwork inspired by the charming world of Ernest and Celestine. Led by artist Esther Marshall, the workshop, titled "Painting a Home Together", will explore how two very different mammals can find common ground and create a shared space.

The workshop is inspired by the beautiful illustrations in the original Ernest and Celestine books, which use watercolour to capture the emotions of the characters. Esther Marshall will be drawing inspiration from the work of Monique Martin, the author and illustrator of the books, whose expressive watercolours are a key part of the story's charm.

Following the workshop, Fabrica will screen the English-language dub of the Oscar-nominated film Ernest and Celestine, which tells the story of an unlikely friendship between a little mouse and a big bear. Tickets and details for this event are available with the button beside this article.
