Draw to Film at Fabrica

The Quay Brothers, identical twins, have been making animated films since the late 1970s, and their unique style has captivated audiences with its hypnotic blend of décor, camera, lighting, music, and movement. Their films, which will be showcased at the event, are a perfect blend of visually inspiring and thought-provoking content.

On Monday, 9 November 2026, Fabrica in Brighton will host a facilitated drawing-to-film session, where participants can respond to the Quay Brothers' animations in a creative way. Led by experienced artist-facilitator Jane Fordham, the session will encourage participants to capture their sense of what they see, rather than what is necessarily there, and all necessary drawing materials will be provided.

The event is suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to artists, and is open to anyone aged 15 and up, with under 16's accompanied by a paying adult. Tickets and details are available with the button beside this article, and participants are advised to arrive early to secure their preferred setting, with Fabrica's cafe-bar open on site for refreshments.
