The Old Oak Film Screening

Are you interested in stories of resilience and community? The Old Oak, a film directed by Ken Loach, tells the story of a former mining community and the impact of Syrian refugees on the local pub. The film explores themes of loss, fear, friendship, and hope, as two different communities learn to share the same space.

The screening, which takes place on Thursday, 19 November 2026, at Fabrica in Brighton, will be opened by Hummingbird's Youth Ambassadors, who will share their experiences and the importance of the charity's work. This introduction adds a personal touch to the event, highlighting the charity's mission to create safe spaces for young people affected by forced displacement.
