Brighton Theatre Royal Hosts The Elvis Years

The idea for The Elvis Years was born almost 20 years ago, when the smash-hit musical JAILHOUSE ROCK, starring Mario Kombou, opened in London's West End. The magic on stage during the run of the show was palpable, and Mario, along with some of the cast, didn't want it to end. This led to the creation of a new show, THE ELVIS YEARS, which would encompass the entire creative life of Elvis Presley. With the help of the show's musical director David Mackay, Mario Kombou set about bringing the essence of Elvis to every song from every era.

The result is a stunning production that takes the audience on a fantastic ride through the King's remarkable career. With over 50 golden greats, the show charts the rise and rise of the boy from Tupelo, from the early hits 'That's Alright Mama', 'Don't Be Cruel' and 'I Got Stung' all the way through to the iconic Las Vegas concerts with 'In The Ghetto', 'The Wonder Of You' and of course 'Suspicious Minds'. The production features a full cast of West End talent, a spectacular set, breathtaking lights and awesome video content, making it a truly immersive experience.

Mario Kombou's performance is at the heart of the show, and he brings the essence of Elvis to every song from every era. With more than 12 costume changes, he effortlessly navigates the different stages of Elvis's career, from The Ed Sullivan Show to the Hollywood years and the legendary '68 comeback special. The show's attention to detail and commitment to authenticity have earned it high praise, with Elvis's first cousin Donna Presley describing it as 'The Best Elvis Since Elvis'.
