Garage rock with a hint of power pop and punk is a sound that never goes out of style, and one band that has mastered this blend is Sahara Hotnights. Formed in the early 1990s in Robertsfors, Sweden, the band consists of lead vocalist Maria Andersson, drummer Josephine Forsman, and sisters Jennie and Johanna Asplund. Their story began when they started playing music together due to boredom, and their name is inspired by a horse that Josephine Forsman bet on while the band was in Australia.

Sahara Hotnights' music is heavily influenced by The Pretenders, Joan Jett, and PJ Harvey, which is evident in their energetic and catchy sound. Their debut EP, Suits Anyone Fine, was released in 1997 to immediate success and critical acclaim in Europe. This was followed by their debut studio album, C'mon Let's Pretend, which earned two Grammis nominations. However, it was their second album, Jennie Bomb, that brought them their big breakthrough to the rest of the world. The album included the hit single Alright Alright (Here's My Fist, Where's the Fight?), which reached number one in Sweden and was featured in several films, including Cheaper by the Dozen and Jackass: The Movie.

The band's music is a perfect blend of garage rock, power pop, and punk, with catchy melodies and energetic rhythms. Over the years, they have released several albums, including Kiss & Tell, Love in Times of Low Expectations, and No One Ever Really Changes. After a long break, they reformed in 2019 and have been actively producing music since then. Their 25th-anniversary edition of Jennie Bomb is a limited 180g translucent green LP, which is a testament to their enduring legacy.
