New Collection - Barbara Burns took place 29 Oct 2026 at Kellie Miller Arts Gallery (Brighton).

On Thursday, 29 October 2026, at the Kellie Miller Arts Gallery in Brighton, Barbara Burns will showcase her new collection of paintings, which delve into the relationship between the chalk of the South Downs and the granite of the Lizard Peninsula.

• Her paintings often feature a sense of the buried or concealed ancient landscape, with earthy tones emerging in places, reflecting her experiences exploring dramatic coastlines and local surroundings. • Burns' artistic process involves working in oils with glazes, building her paintings over several months, and carefully selecting and eliminating forms and textures to create unique, layered pieces. • This current body of work is a testament to her deep connection to the landscapes she knows well, from the South Downs to the Lizard Peninsula, and her ability to capture their essence in her art.

With a background in fine art, having completed a BA degree at Brighton University in 1996, and a history of exhibiting at major London Art Fairs, Barbara Burns' new collection is a highly anticipated event.
