The Rossi Bar (Brighton)

Alternative music fans are in for a treat as Big Red's sound is a masterful blend of indie rock and shoegaze, with a hint of folk textures. The band, led by Joseph Scarisbrick, has evolved from a solo writing outlet into a powerful three-piece with Millie Kirby on bass and vocals and Charlie Hancock on drums.

Big Red's music is characterised by its confessional and brutally honest writing style, with songs that deal with distance and longing. Their debut single, "Isn't He Funny?", is a prime example of this, starting as a gentle ballad before erupting into a loud, shoegaze-leaning wall of sound. The debut album, Big Sur, was recorded live in Devon with minimal overdubs, giving it a raw and candid feel.

Big Red will be playing at The Rossi Bar in Brighton on Wednesday, 18 November 2026, as part of their first headline tour. Tickets are with the button beside the article. With their unique sound and energetic live performances, Big Red is definitely an act to watch, and their show at The Rossi Bar is not to be missed by fans of alternative music.
