Hats Off Poetry Night

The idea of using hats as a way to express admiration for performers is not new, but it's certainly a creative twist on the traditional applause. This concept is being brought to life by Ali B Poetry, who will be hosting the Hats Off Poetry night at the Artista Cafe and Gallery in Brighton on Thursday, 29 October 2026. With a different guest co-host each month, the event is sure to be fresh and exciting every time.

The event is designed to be an interactive and silly spoken word night, where the audience is encouraged to participate and have fun. Hat-related games will be a key part of the evening, adding to the lighthearted and entertaining atmosphere. To join in the fun, audience members are encouraged to come prepared with a hat to throw onto the stage, showing their appreciation for the poets in a unique and playful way.

Ali B Poetry is the mastermind behind this event, and with their experience in hosting spoken word nights, they are sure to bring a high level of energy and enthusiasm to the evening. The fact that a lost hat meeting point will be available to ensure hats are safely returned to their owners shows that the event is well-organised and considerate of the audience's needs.
