"Who was with Edmund Hillary on the summit of Mount Everest in 1953?" That was the first "One-Million-Question" successfully answered on the German version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" in 2000. I think the way the question is phrased says a lot about us as a society and also highlights why a film like "Tenzing" is so important. The achievement and story is clearly a 10/10. The movie I'll score 7.5. Great camaraderie between Phuntsok & Hiddleston. It was neat reading about all the mountains they really did climb and dug out of crevasses to film this. Easy movie to enjoy and what Tenzing overcame in his life to get to his ultimate goal. A recommended viewing for most anyone.

It is not just a climbing adventure. There is class division, self discovery, hunger and spirituality woven beautifully.

Very good. I like that they put so many Sherpa-speaking scenes in. They didn’t try to go easy.

He was, together with Edmund Hilary, one of the first two persons to succeed in reaching the highest point on earth. (Interesting fact: Until their death, they insisted that they reached the peak together, even though I learned in school that it was Hilary who reached the summit…

A solid film that didn't entertain me very well personally. The images speak for themselves and the story on the one hand, but that's exactly where the problem lies, because the story as a whole, regardless of its true meaning, is extremely boring and exhausting. In this case, the spectator's power loss is length and lack of content. Unfortunately, the emotional depth does not work without the necessary drama and I miss it. Of course, the…
