Brighton Witchcraft Party

On Saturday, 31 October 2026, visitors to Komedia Brighton will be treated to an evening of haunting melodies and sinister tales, as The Witchcraft and Vagrancy Act presents the Marginalia Halloween Party. The night will feature a special showcase of folky frights, designed to make you wiggle while you weep, along with a Halloween fancy-dress competition.

The Witchcraft and Vagrancy Act is a Brighton and Hove-based horror folk ensemble, comprising lead vocalist Richard Craig, George Gavin, and Iaonnis Zigras. With their diverse backgrounds in music, including folk, goth rock, and Greek folk, they bring a unique sound to the stage, combining captivating folklore, ethereal harmonies, and compelling instrumentation.

The band's music is a testament to their research into grim songs from the past, with songs like Pendle and The Cutty Wren showcasing their ability to craft haunting and atmospheric soundscapes. They will be joined by Fae as Folk, the all-female bards who combine folklore, ethereal harmonies, and compelling instrumentation to take you on a journey of song and story.

The event will take place at Komedia Brighton, with tickets available with the button beside this article. It's an opportunity to experience the darker side of folk music, with The Witchcraft and Vagrancy Act's sensibilities of dark cabaret, folk horror, and the gothic on full display.
