You will see nearly 30 objects from private collections and national institutions, including portraits of the artist by her husband William and poignant letters, photographs, and personal objects.
• The exhibition will feature several paintings made at The Grange itself, the Nicholsons' home between 1909 and 1914. • A new biography by Lucy Davies, published by Eiderdown Books, will accompany the exhibition, providing further insight into Mabel's life and art. • The show is curated by David Bomford and Lucy Davies, bringing together a unique collection of artworks and personal items that have been unseen since Mabel's death in 1918.
The exhibition, titled Prydie: the life and art of Mabel Pryde Nicholson, will run from Monday, 21 June 2027 to Saturday, 18 September 2027 at The Grange in Brighton. This is a rare opportunity to learn about the life, loves, and influence of a talented and versatile painter, and to see her work in the context of Edwardian Britain and France.
