Ish Screens

People will watch a striking film that delves into the lives of two young friends, Ish and Maram, as they struggle to maintain their bond in the face of adversity. • The film is set in the South Asian and Middle Eastern community in Luton, offering a unique perspective on the experiences of these characters. • Before and after the screening, attendees can listen to a bespoke mix by Brighton-based activists and DJs Radio Calais, which combines music with information from refugee communities. • The event is part of BFI Amplified, a five-film series at Fabrica linked to the One Song exhibition and the BFI FAN Rip It Up season, making it a significant cultural event in the town.

Ish is the debut narrative feature from Imran Perretta, a talented visual artist, writer, director, and composer from London. The film will be shown at Fabrica in Brighton on Thursday, 29 October 2026, until Saturday, 31 October 2026. The venue is in Brighton, and tickets are with the button beside the article.
