Toy Tales

Slot Machine Theatre, a Lewes-based company, has been developing work with students and young people since 2006. They have a strong focus on child-centred theatre, with puppetry and live music at its core. Their latest show, Your Toys, is a perfect example of this, with a story developed through workshops with children aged 5-9.

The show is suitable for children aged 4-9 and their families, and invites audience members to bring along a toy to star in the performance. The toys are then brought to life on stage, creating a truly joyous and unique piece of theatre. With music, belly laughs, and plenty of surprises, Your Toys is a heart-warming story about new friends pulling together.

On Friday, 30 October 2026, to Sunday, 1 November 2026, at 23:00, Your Toys will be performed at the Brighton Dome, Brighton. Tickets are with the button beside the article. Each performance runs for 60 minutes, followed by a 10-minute period to collect toys and meet the cast on stage. Touch tours are also available for young people with low vision or special education needs, and can be booked in advance by contacting access@brightondome.org or calling 01273 261541.
