Hastings Contemporary

On Thursday, 5 November 2026, the Hastings Contemporary in Hastings will host an After School Art Club for 8-12 year olds, led by the team from Soil Craft. Over five weeks, children will delve into the hidden world beneath our feet, using microscopes to investigate coastal soils and create artwork inspired by their findings.

Soil Craft is a community interest company that aims to raise awareness of soil health and the soil ecosystem. The company, run by Julia and Sylvie, has a background in fine art, photography, garden design, microbiology, and science education. They have experience in speaking to community groups and running educational workshops for both adults and children.

The After School Art Club sessions will take place on Thursday afternoons from 4pm-5pm. Tickets are with the button beside the article. The club will run until Thursday, 3 December 2026, giving children the chance to experiment, make, and work together to create unique artwork using a range of different materials.
