Join Bromley vs Pilcher in Tenterden

Thomas Bromley and Mark Pilcher are set to perform at The Grapevine in Rye on Saturday, 31 October 2026, bringing their "BROMLEY Vs PILCHER – JAZZ SESSIONS" to the stage. With over 20 years of shared stages and spontaneous musical conversation, this duo is known for their raw, groove-driven, soul-infused jazz performed entirely in the moment. Fresh from their 2025 mini European tour, they are ready to deliver what they do best, with a live experience that feels spontaneous, authentic, and deeply rooted in the traditions of jazz, soul, and blues.

The duo's near-telepathic connection on stage is a result of their decades-long collaboration, with no gimmicks or safety nets, just instinct, groove, and fearless musicianship. Thomas Bromley's rich, Motown-soaked voice blends seamlessly with his expressive jazz and blues guitar work, while Mark Pilcher's groove-defined drumming drives the music with power, finesse, and swing. This combination creates a unique sound that is both contemporary and rooted in tradition.

Thomas Bromley brings over 25 years of live performance experience to the stage, with a reputation for his distinctive, raw organic tone and compelling songwriting. Mark Pilcher, on the other hand, is a jazz-trained drummer and percussionist with more than 25 years of live experience, drawing inspiration from legends such as Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich, Joe Morello, and Jo Jones. Their individual talents and experiences come together to create a dynamic interplay of soulful vocals, blues-inflected guitar lines, and groove-heavy percussion.

The performance at The Grapevine is set to be an intimate, high-energy live experience, with raw Motown-infused vocals, jazz & blues guitar in full flow, groove-led, swing-driven drums, original material alongside inspired improvisation. For lovers of authentic, live jazz with soul at its core, this is an event worth attending.
