Bromley vs Pilcher Jazz Sessions

Thomas Bromley, a Kent-raised singer, songwriter, and guitarist, began his music career gigging in local pubs at 14. He later studied guitar and piano at college and developed his craft on the London circuit. With over 25 years of live performance experience, Bromley has released records on the 4 Real Records label and has a reputation for his distinctive, raw organic tone and compelling songwriting.

Bromley is paired with Mark Pilcher, a jazz-trained drummer and percussionist with over 25 years of live experience. Pilcher draws inspiration from legends such as Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich, Joe Morello, and Jo Jones, and has performed with various outfits, including the local world music group Pass the Cat. The duo's set combines Motown-influenced vocals, blues-inflected guitar, and swing-led drumming, with original material and improvisation.

On Saturday, 31 October 2026, Bromley and Pilcher will perform at The Grapevine in Rye. Tickets are with the button beside the article. This intimate, high-energy live show is a conversation between two talented musicians, delivering raw, groove-driven jazz that is deeply rooted in tradition yet undeniably contemporary.
