HALF-TERM CREATIVE WORKSHOP: MAKE YOUR OWN BEAST

HALF-TERM CREATIVE WORKSHOP: MAKE YOUR OWN BEAST took place 28 Oct 2026 at De La Warr Pavilion (Bexhill-on-Sea).

You'll have the chance to invent a nocturnal creature, whether it's a fox, moth, bat, or something entirely new, and then bring it to life in 3D using cardboard. With the help of artists Dawn East and Lauren Burrows, you'll learn how to cut, layer, and shape your creature, adding wings, legs, or other features to make it truly unique.

As you work on your creature, you'll also have the opportunity to experiment with light and silhouettes, creating a temporary world of shadows and unexpected visitors. This workshop is inspired by Prem Sahib's *Fox* (2004), currently on display in the De La Warr Pavilion gallery, and explores the idea of what happens to familiar spaces after dark.

The workshop is designed for 11-14 year olds, and no previous art experience is needed - just a willingness to experiment and have fun. On Wednesday, 28 October 2026, head to the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-on-Sea to join in on the creative fun. Tickets or details are available with the button beside this article.
