This folktale reworking of the Cinderella story is a bold, brutal and grotesque horror that is deliciously women-centric.
Combining comedy and horror, the film is a daring and unexpected take on the world-famous tale, seen through the eyes of Cinderella’s stepsister, Elvira.
The gory film follows Elvira as she battles to compete with her insanely beautiful stepsister in a kingdom where beauty is a brutal business. She will go to any lengths to catch the prince’s eye.
Taking a hammer and chisel to a quintessential fairy tale, The Ugly Stepsister's masterful application of gore and subversion are the stuff that nightmares are made of.
Part of Fright Night, hosted by Emily Booth and Kim Taylor-Foster.
