New Queers on the Block

New Queers on the Block is a catalyst for queer culture and community, connecting a network of arts partners in Bradford, Blackpool, Hastings, Folkestone and Brighton led by Marlborough Productions, one of the UK’s leading producers of live art and performance. Over the last four years, New Queers on the Block has supported the artistic development of a number of exciting LGBTQIA+ performers. QUEERCALL is Folkestone’s very own LGBTQIA+ festival of art & performance. Taking place as part of the New Queers on the Block artist development programme led by Marlborough Productions, this year's festival, QUEERCALL, is produced by Ash McNaughton and will feature live art & theatre performances, site specific performance, exhibitions & community events across the Creative Quarter. New Queers on the Block is led by Marlborough Productions and is an LGBTIQ+ artist and community development programme, embedding artists in the communities of Blackpool, Bradford, Brighton, Folkestone and Hastings since 2018. Previously the programme has commissioned artists within live art, performance art, experimental theatre, dance, cabaret, and visual art, whilst establishing strong relationships with underrepresented communities across the network, working directly with local residents, ambassadors, producers, venues and local LGBTIQ+ support groups, spaces and programmes.
