Last Fridays was a vibrant, community-led initiative and a key part of the Folkestone Triennial 2025 Public Programme. Taking place on the last Friday of each month throughout the Triennial, this series of late openings and special events highlighted the energy, talent, and imagination that make Folkestone such a creative place to live, work, and visit. Spanning venues across the Creative Quarter and beyond, Last Fridays offered opportunities to explore a changing programme of art exhibitions, installations, performances, film screenings, artist talks, poetry readings, DJ sets, and pop-up events. Each edition was different, providing audiences with new experiences and discoveries. The programme brought together a wide range of collaborators, including Screen South, kollectiv, SD Projects, the Folkestone Landmarks and Monuments Society, and Open Art Folke – all leading voices in the local cultural landscape. Together, they helped make Folkestone a place of artistic excellence and collaborative leadership. Last Fridays was free and open to all, celebrating the power of art to transform public spaces, bring people together, and spark new ideas.
