Writer, critic, curator and broadcaster Hettie Judah has spent years championing artists and challenging the myths that surround creative careers. In her acclaimed new book How to Enter the Art World, she draws on decades of experience and candid conversations with artists, curators, critics and gallerists to offer a refreshingly honest guide to navigating the contemporary art world. This event explores creativity, resilience and the many different paths through a life in art. Hettie Judah is one of Britain’s most influential art critics and curators, known for her advocacy for artists and for the landmark exhibition Acts of Creation: On Art and Motherhood. The event will be chaired by Megan Piper, a passionate champion of public art, creative spaces and the women shaping our cultural world. Folkestone Book Festival is our annual celebration of stories, ideas and conversation by the sea. The Festival is part of Folkestone is a Library, our ambitious town-wide celebration of reading, writing and storytelling, helping make Folkestone one of the UK’s most exciting literary destinations.
