In the height of the Depression a gifted violist with a bright future in music is lured into the brutal world of professional boxing with promises of fame and fortune. He must confront what he’s willing to sacrifice, who he’s willing to become and how to find his place in a world. Josh O’Connor (The Crown; Challengers) leads the cast in this propulsive drama, a searing revival of Clifford Odets’ knockout American classic, filmed live at Almeida Theatre and featuring a live string quartet.
