Gluck's Orpheus & Eurydice
16 Apr 2027The Marlowe Theatre (Canterbury)

Eternal love, with a price to pay. Orpheus, grief-stricken musician and son of one of the immortal muses, strikes a deal with the Gods to rescue his dead love, Eurydice. But descending to the Underworld comes at a steep price – Orpheus must resist the temptation to look at Eurydice until they return to the surface, or risk an eternity without her. A timeless story of ill-fated love is brought to life with a new orchestration in ETO’s new production of _Orpheus and Eurydice_ from acclaimed director and movement specialist Jenny Ogilvie, celebrating the myth of Orpheus through the power of the voice and profound theatricality. Performed in English with English surtitles.
