Free Comedy Workshops for Young People Age 11–16

Presented by Komedia Productions in partnership with Brighton Dome Comedy Festival 2026, these free comedy workshops are for young people aged 11-16. The workshops will focus on various elements of comedy, including stand-up, improv, and character comedy, as well as developing writing skills and building confidence in public speaking. Led by Tom Veryzer and special guest comedians, the programme consists of 8 workshops over 6 weeks, culminating in a live showcase at Brighton Dome's Studio Theatre. The workshops will also cover how material is developed, marketing a show, and behind-the-scenes roles. Previous participants have praised the workshops, saying they have made them feel happier and more confident. Priority will be given to young people who receive free school meals and those who have not taken part in previous programmes.
