Disrupt & Disseminate! Book Binding & Zine Making with designer Soofiya

Throughout history, zines have functioned as accessible vehicles for community, dissent, and DIY creativity, being inexpensive to create and distribute. This practical introductory full-day workshop explores the cultural heritage and lineage of zine production alongside the art of bookbinding.
Participants will learn two traditional binding approaches—saddle stitch and coptic stitch—and produce handcrafted books finished with stickers, collage, adhesive tape, and gathered imagery common to zine aesthetics.
The workshop is crafted to be welcoming to all experience levels, whether you are completely new to making books or an experienced self-publisher.
