Limbo is a wry, funny and poignant cross-cultural satire that subtly sews together the hardship and hope of the refugee experience.
Set on a fictional remote Scottish island, it follows a group of new arrivals as they await the results of their asylum claims. Among them is Omar, a young Syrian musician who shoulders the weight of his past and of his grandfather's oud as he wanders the strange but epic landscapes searching for answers.
Alaa Wehbi will perform a live oud performance to accompany the screening. Alaa is a Brighton‑based Oud musician and community facilitator who performs traditional and contemporary Middle Eastern music and has collaborated with Music Action International and Best Foot Music.
