10 Things I Hate About You | Interview with director Gil Junger

This year marks the 25th anniversary of 10 Things I Hate About You, the beloved 1999 rom-com that loosely adapted Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew into a teen hit, supersonically launching the careers of Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The film's director, Gil Junger, discusses his feature debut and his current work at The Breakthru Company. The story follows Cameron, who falls for the popular Bianca, but his uncool status as the new kid in town isn’t the only thing preventing him from asking her out: Bianca is forbidden to date until her older sister Kat does too – and the fiery feminist Kat’s got no plans to do so. In an attempt to solve his problem, Cameron singles out the only man in school who could possibly be a match for Kat: the school’s mysterious bad boy.
