Accessibility at Hidden Beach

Supporting access, care and inclusion

Hidden Beach is committed to creating spaces that are welcoming, accessible and enjoyable for as many people as possible.

We recognise that people arrive with different bodies, senses, needs and experiences, and we aim to plan and hold our programme with care, awareness and flexibility.

This page shares how we currently support access — and how you can contact us if you have specific needs or questions.

Site access and facilities

  • Main festival routes, entrances and event areas at The Oval aim to be wheelchair accessible.

  • A drop-off point is available near The Oval for guests with limited mobility.

  • Accessible toilets are available and clearly signposted.

  • Seating and shaded rest areas are provided for anyone who needs a pause or quiet moment.

  • Where possible, accessible viewing areas are created for people with limited mobility.

Parking and transport

  • Nearby council-run car parks include Blue Badge parking bays.

  • Hastings Station and St Leonards Warrior Square stations both have step-free access and are within reach of festival locations.

  • Local bus and taxi services operate across the town — details can be found on our Getting Here page.

If you need guidance on the easiest way to arrive based on your access needs, we’re very happy to help.

Support and assistance

  • Our staff and volunteers are briefed to offer support with care, respect and attention.

  • Assistance with navigation, seating, access routes or finding quieter spaces is available on request.

  • Quiet, lower-stimulation spaces are available for those who need time away from crowds or sound.

Information and communication

  • Programme information can be provided in large print or digital formats on request.

  • Clear, high-contrast signage is used across festival sites.

  • If you would like to arrange support in advance, or have questions about access, please contact us:

A shared responsibility

Accessibility is not only about facilities — it is also about how we treat each other.

We ask everyone to move through the programme with awareness, patience and care for the different needs of those around them.

We are always learning and improving how we support access.

If something doesn’t feel right, or if there is something we could do better, we welcome your feedback.

Thank you for helping us create spaces that are open, caring and inclusive.
