Horntye Park Sports Complex
Saturday 8th August
5pm – Midnight

The mighty Aba Shanti-I returns to Hastings with the full sound system, bringing an evening of deep roots, spiritual upliftment, and unmistakable vibration to Horntye Park Sports Complex.

Recognised worldwide as one of the most influential figures in sound system culture, Aba Shanti-I has been playing across the UK and Europe for over 30 years. A resident sound system at Notting Hill Carnival since 1993, the same year he was voted No.1 DJ in the world by DJ Magazine, Aba has carried the message of roots and culture to audiences across the globe—from Brazil to Japan, from Mexico to the US.

His musical inspiration spans Dennis Brown, Bob Marley, Junior Delgado, Yabby You, Prince Lincoln and many more. The Aba Shanti-I sound blends classic roots reggae and dub with signature reverb, delays and effects, creating a unique style that has defined a generation of UK sound system music.

From his early days as Jasmine Joe on Jah Tubby’s to founding the University of Dub and producing music with Blood Shanti and the Shanti-Ites on their Falasha label, Aba’s legacy continues to shape and elevate the culture.

On 8th August, Hastings will feel that legacy in full effect.
