Understanding Flavour Through Shared Cooking

Join us for a hands-on Moroccan cooking workshop as part of the kitchen.hiddenbea.ch residency at the Stade Kitchen, exploring how flavour is built, balanced and shared. Set by the sea, this session focuses on the spices, techniques and cultural traditions that shape Moroccan food, brought to life through a collective cooking experience.

Working together as a group, participants will explore key Moroccan spices through smell and taste, prepare ingredients, and contribute to a shared vegetable tagine cooked centrally by the facilitator. Rather than following a recipe step by step, the workshop encourages discussion, decision-making and tasting — helping everyone understand how warmth, sweetness and depth come together in Moroccan cuisine.

The session is designed to be inclusive and accessible. Participants take part through preparation, flavour decisions and shared tasting, with final cooking managed centrally to ensure safety and comfort for all. The workshop finishes with everyone eating together, reflecting on what they’ve learned and how flavour develops over time.

This is a relaxed, participatory experience suitable for adults and families, with no prior cooking experience needed.
