Aba initially played on Jah Tubby’s sound system, where he went by the name ‘Jasmine Joe,’ known for his lively and extroverted role as their mic man.

When Aba embraced the Rastafarian faith, he adopted a more positive outlook on life, along with a new name: Aba Shanti-i. This new name became synonymous with his sound system.

For the past decade, Aba has been sharing his sound, along with the music created by his brother Blood Shanti, in venues both large and small across the country. Along the way, he has cultivated a loyal following that spans a broad spectrum of people.

People flock to Aba Shanti-i sessions to let go of their worries, to become absorbed in the music, and in doing so, break free from mental constraints.

Aba Shanti-i is the perfect sound system for Hidden Beach – Love Music Hate Racism Festival , where he returns after unforgettable sessions at Hidden Beach in Hastings St. Mary in the Castle and his groundbreaking set at the first Hidden Beach Festival in 2023.
