Participatory rhythm sessions led by Yair Katz

These drumming workshops offer inclusive, hands-on opportunities to explore rhythm, listening and collective music-making. Led by experienced facilitator Yair Katz, the sessions are designed to support confidence, coordination and connection through shared percussion.

Each workshop uses accessible instruments and clear guidance, creating welcoming spaces for people of different ages, abilities and levels of experience.

Session formats

Drumming Circle

A facilitated group drumming session focused on shared rhythm and collective participation.

Participants explore:

  • listening and responding to others

  • simple rhythmic patterns

  • group awareness and timing

The emphasis is on connection and collaboration rather than technical skill, making this session suitable for complete beginners and mixed-age groups.

Drumming, Percussion & Free Play Workshop

A more exploratory session combining guided percussion activities with creative free play.

Participants are supported to:

  • experiment with different percussion instruments

  • explore rhythm, texture and tempo

  • develop confidence through improvisation and response

This session encourages curiosity and creative expression, while still offering clear structure and facilitation.

SEND Drumming Session

A dedicated, inclusive session designed for participants with additional needs and disabilities.

This workshop:

  • is delivered at a gentle, accessible pace

  • uses clear cues and adaptable activities

  • prioritises comfort, choice and sensory awareness

The session creates a safe, supportive environment where participants can engage with rhythm and sound in ways that suit them individually.
