Course Overview

Learn the essentials of hospitality and artist care with Hidden Beach Festival. This hybrid experiential course combines online preparation with hands-on practical experience during the festival, giving participants direct exposure to festival operations, artist management, and backstage hospitality.

Over 6–8 weeks, participants will explore:

  • Principles of hospitality and artist relations in festival settings

  • Coordinating artist schedules, travel, and accommodations

  • On-site support for performers, crews, and VIP guests

  • Problem-solving, communication, and teamwork in fast-paced environments

  • Health, safety, and wellbeing protocols for artists and teams

  • Practical experience working with artists during Hidden Beach Festival

Participants will gain real-world skills in managing artist experiences, festival logistics, and hospitality operations.

Course Format

  • Hybrid Learning:

    • Online modules: theory, case studies, communication, and hospitality planning

    • In-person practical elements: direct experience supporting artists at Hidden Beach Festival

  • Small Group Instruction: mentorship from festival staff and hospitality coordinators

  • Hands-On Tasks: assisting artists, managing artist areas, coordinating schedules

  • Collaborative Learning: working with peers to deliver excellent hospitality services

Week 1–2: Introduction to Hospitality & Artist Care Principles (Online)
Week 3–4: Communication, Scheduling, and Hospitality Planning (Online + Prep)
Week 5–6: On-Site Artist Care & Practical Experience at Hidden Beach Festival
Week 7–8: Reflection, Evaluation & Capstone Project: Festival Hospitality Report

Participants will complete the course with practical experience, a professional understanding of artist care, and a portfolio-ready reflection report documenting their festival contributions.
